Five champions crowned at 2025 WIAA State Girls Basketball Tournament

GREEN BAY – Five divisional championships were decided as the 2025 WIAA State Girls Basketball Tournament concluded Saturday at the Resch Center in Green Bay.

Wisconsin Rapids Assumption started out the day with a 34-30 win over Barneveld in the Division 5 final. The state title is the fourth for the Royals (2013, 1016, 2021).

In the Division 4 championship, Cuba City added to its state record championship tally, earning its 11th with a 53-50 victory over Neenah St. Mary Catholic.

Oostburg topped Xavier 49-36 in the Division 3 final to win its fourth state title (1990, 1994, 2008). Xavier finished as the D-3 runner-up for the second year in a row.

The Division 2 championship game was a wild one as Wauwatosa East earned its second state title and first since 1981 with a 59-58 win over Madison Edgewood in triple overtime.

Kimberly closed out Championship Saturday with a dominant 49-25 win over Muskego in the Division 1 final. The Papermakers have now won five state titles (1987, 1989, 1996, 1998).
