Appleton East girls basketball rips Sheboygan North in season-opener

APPLETON – Appleton East made 13 3-pointers in a dominating 82-37 nonconference win over Sheboygan North to kick off its girls basketball season on Friday night at East High School.
Appleton East cruised out to a 40-16 lead by halftime and doubled up the Golden Raiders (1-1) 42-21 in the second half to roll to the victory.
Ella Sweeney (20 points) and Torie Neubauer (17 points) each made four 3-pointers for the hot-shooting Patriots.
Lilly Meulemans added 11 points in the win for Appleton East.
Appleton East will travel to Green Bay Preble for another nonconference game on Tuesday.
